At St David's High School are currently working towards achieving our Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award, having achieved our Bronze award in 2021 and our Silver just last September in 2023. The UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) works with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive. The Rights Respecting Schools Award embeds these values in daily school life and gives children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.

At St David's High School there is a RRSA group involving staff and pupils which meets once a week. Some of the initiatives involved in what we do are embedding the "Right of the Month" which is where we draw a whole school focus to one of the rights from the United Nations Charter on the Rights of the Child. There are posters put up and short presentations prepared for all classes which explain the Right of the Month and it's significance. We have also labelled areas in the school where our rights are met in order to highlight the rights. Recently, we have launched a new behaviour policy to allow pupils to lead their restorative conversation with a teacher with dignity. The RRSA group also organised a series of successful events, for example, a very successful bake sale with all funds raised going to UNICEF, our Soccer Aid challenge in June during the Sports day and, more recently, an ongoing money appeal to raise funds for Palestine through UNICEF.
