Extra-curricular Music

Music is a powerful tool for engaging children and young people, broadening their opportunities and enriching learning beyond the classroom. Extra-curricular music activities at St David’s High School are exciting, engaging and (quite literally) life-changing!

Our ensembles have opportunities to perform regularly throughout the year both in school and in the local community. We put on a show stopping Christmas Concert each year and in the Spring/Summer term we  alternate between putting on a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ (with staff and pupil dancers and live music for dances) at Easter as well as a Summer Concert or a musical. Previous musicals have included: Seussical the Musical (2016), Sister Act (2018), Sunshine on Leith (2023).

The following extra curricular activities are offered by music teachers and instructors and take place at lunchtime (1:20-1:45pm). All pupils who receive instrumental lessons in school are expected to contribute to the musical life of the school by participating in the appropriate ensemble.
